Cave Creek is a charming Sonoran Desert town north and east of Phoenix. It is home to about 6,000 residents. The town is an open space community of about 30 square miles, and much of the land is undeveloped so residents can more fully enjoy the desert landscape. Cave Creek has an expansive network of trails that make hiking and horseback riding a pleasure. Cave Creek does not have a municipal property tax, instead, Cave Creek collects needed funds from the sales tax generated by tourists who come for the western cultural offerings of the city. No Cave Creek experience is complete without going on a tour on horseback from one of the many equestrian stables. If you’re needing boots or western wear, there are local shops where you can experience more of the cowboy way. Cave Creek Regional Park provides opportunities to experience wildflowers and the rugged splendor of desert plants and vegetation. Local restaurants, bars, and grills populate the main strip through town, catering to the many visitors who come to enjoy a little feel of the west. A very “horse-friendly” town, homes in Cave Creek vary from working ranches on acreage to small townhomes or condos. Cave Creek is located within the Cave Creek Unified School District which serves over 5,400 students in Cave Creek, Carefree, Maricopa County, North Phoenix, and Scottsdale. If you are looking to get away from it all and still be connected to a civilized, diverse lifestyle, Cave Creek may be perfect for you.
