As we roll through the hot days of July, it certainly seems the news around the world has been distressing on almost every front. With all the disheartening news, we wanted to lighten things up, maybe bring back some happy memories and try to focus our minds on something fun.
Who doesn’t love a delicious S’More? We’re kicking up an old school favorite with a couple modern twists. Enjoy this delicious treat in front of a traditional bonfire, or use one of our updated ideas to indulge in the cool of the kitchen. Either way, the summer classic will be a delightful escape.
S’MORES FOR THE OVEN
S’MORES BLONDIE PIE
INGREDIENTS
6 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars
(1.55 oz each), divided
1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick), softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 cups marshmallow creme
1/4 tsp. shortening
(do not use margarine, butter, spread or oil)
Ice cream (optional)
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch pie plate. Unwrap chocolate bars; break into pieces.
2. Beat butter and sugar until blended in medium bowl. Add egg; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, graham cracker crumbs and baking powder; beat until well blended.
3. Press half of dough onto bottom and up sides of pie plate. Spread marshmallow creme over bottom of crust. Set aside 1 tablespoon chocolate bar pieces. Sprinkle the remaining pieces evenly over marshmallow creme.
4. Form remaining dough into ball; place on sheet of waxed paper. With fingers, flatten and shape into 9-inch circle. Pick up waxed paper, supporting dough with hands. Flip dough onto pie surface. Peel off waxed paper. Pinch edges of dough together and form crust edge.
5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Melt remaining chocolate bar pieces with shortening; drizzle over top of pie. Makes 8 servings. To serve, microwave slices at high (100%) 15 to 20 seconds or until slightly warm and marshmallow starts to melt. Top with ice cream, if desired.
S’MORES BOXED BROWNIES
INGREDIENTS
1 box brownies, prepared according to package instructions
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 bar chocolate, broken into pieces
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
DIRECTIONS
1. Sprinkle the mini marshmallows, chocolate, and graham cracker crumbs over the baked brownies.
2. Broil in the oven for two minutes, or until the marshmallows are toasted.
3. Enjoy!
S’MORES SANDWICH BAR COOKIE
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter or margarine
(1 stick), softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
5 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars (1.55 oz each), unwrapped
3 cups miniature marshmallows
DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 8-inch square baking pan.
2. Beat butter and sugar until well blended in large bowl. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir together flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Press half of dough in prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes.
3. Break chocolate bars into pieces and sprinkle over baked layer. Top with marshmallows; scatter bits of remaining dough over marshmallows, forming top layer. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or just until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 16 bars.

S’MORES IN A CUP
INGREDIENTS
1 full-size graham cracker sheet
1/2 Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar (1.55 oz)
15 miniature marshmallows
DIRECTIONS
1. Break graham cracker and milk chocolate bar into pieces. Place in microwave-safe bowl or cup; shake gently or stir to
mix up pieces.
2. Microwave at high (100%) 15 seconds. Add marshmallows. Microwave an additional 10 seconds at high. Serve immediately. 1 serving.

REESE’S CAMPFIRE CUP S’MORES
INGREDIENTS
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, unwrapped
Marshmallows
Graham crackers
EXTRA INGREDIENTS
Bananas
Pretzels
Reese’s Creamy Peanut Butter
DIRECTIONS
Toast a marshmallow to desired doneness. Assemble on a graham cracker with one Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
OTHER IDEAS
1. Add sliced banana for an Elvis-inspired s’more.
2. Add extra crunch with a few pretzels.
3. Not enough peanut butter? Spread Reese’s Creamy Peanut Butter on the graham cracker before adding your Reese’s Cup and marshmallow.
